A glazed English pine dog kennel dresser.  The term dog kennel relative to furniture was coined in the 18th century in Wales as a way to describe the central curve designed into sideboards of this period.  The proper use of the center cubby was for displaying large confit pots or tureens.  With the rising popularity of the dog kennel design, production continued into the late 1890's.  At such point, it became common to see sewing machines in the central cubby.  This dresser has two glass doors on the top and one central open shelving section.  The body is fully waxed and has a warm medium brown coloring.  Areas of imperfection: slight discoloration on the right side (top of the dresser, right side, towards the bottom), wood repair on the left side (top of the dresser, left side, towards the bottom), both doors have ancient seem separation on the sides.
